    Under Yoast > Redirects > Settings > Under .htaccess it asks     “Generate a separate redirect file”        Enable | Disable       “By default we write the redirects to your .htaccess file, check this if you want the redirects written to a separate file. Only check this option if you know what you are doing!”
    I’ve disabled it just from a hunch, could you clarify on this..?

      Hello Mark, that setting basically says, do you want Yoast to create the redirection rules and place them in .htaccess file (because by default it uses PHP redirection) which to use? Leave it at default (this is better way for most setups (unless somehow, you have plenty (let’s say over 100 rules) then exploring .htaccess (especially using regular expression should be considered)

      Once again, simply leave that setting alone, and use the default PHP redirection
